James' Journey: Help Our Hero

James is 4 years old and was born with a mutation of the gene CACNA1G causing spinocerebellar ataxia type 42. This is an extremely rare condition and has had a massive impact on James. He cannot talk, walk or sit up unaided. He is fully dependant for every aspect of his daily life including eating, drinking, changing, moving and playing. He can suffer with awful tummy problems, agitation and cramps in his legs which can be very painful. Socialising and travelling can be difficult for James. 

Although james had many physical limitations and extensive daily care needs, he is still expected to live a long life so we need to plan for his future. He has already essentially outgrown his home at the age of 4 we need to make adjustments so his family home can be exactly that a place for the whole family to enjoy.  As time goes on and his wheelchair size increases, and an increasing need for home equipment such as hoists and standers, James simply needs more space. Washing in a small bathroom and not being able to be in the kitchen when cooking as well as no space for his physio needs, James needs more. And James, a 4 year old little gorgeous boy deserves to be happy and comfortable in his own home.

James loves to dance in our arms to music, something lively like Justin Bieber. This makes him smile his fabulous smile and laugh his lovely little laugh.
James enjoys a good party like all 4 year olds and to be amongst lots of chat and laughter. He loves playing on the floor with his toys. Toys with lights and music are his favourite. The adaptation of his house would allow him to enjoy all the things that make him happy. Bringing a smile to this little boys face is what it's all about!

So we need your help, however small. We want to build James an extension to have wet room and bedroom for his needs and also in time extend his kitchen to have space for him to be part of family life.
