James Winslow Crash Recovery

Donation protected

James Winslow was racing at the Gulf 12 Hour race in Abu Dhabi in December when his car suffered brake failure at 240 kph, and went head on into the wall at full speed. Thanks to the safety equipment in the car and at the circuit, James survived this massive impact. He was rushed to Abu Dhabi hospital for his initial treatment. James has now been transferred back to Australia where treatment and recovery will continue for the coming months. His list of injuries includes:

Broken spine in two places
Broken chest/sternum
Broken wrist
Internal bruising
Damaged spleen
Concussion
Post trauma vertigo

James does not have insurance and has already incurred substantial medical expenses. In addition, the injuries will prevent James from earning income to pay for his medical care, rehabilitation, and daily living expenses. James has a positive outlook, but he needs our help during his recovery.

I’ve personally known James for 10 years now. He is a true racer. While chasing his IndyCar dreams in the US, he would also find time to help me out at my local club races. He would jump in a formula ford to help with setups, give coaching advice, and then hang out and shoot pool at the local pub after the races.

If you know James, you're probably familiar with the story of how he saved a fellow racer from his burning car in an Asian Formula 3 race in 2006. If not, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88XliHU5o1I

James has demonstrated courage, compassion, and support for others throughout his racing career. Now we have an opportunity to return the favor. Please consider making a donation if you can.  Also, notes of get well wishes and encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
