Jamie Barclay family fundraiser

We are asking for donations to help cover hotel and travel expenses for Jamie Barclay's wife (Kristen) and children's (Kylie and Jaxon) as they will be staying in St Louis while Jamie is in ICU.  In addition, Jamie is out of sick leave due to taking care of Kristen after her broken knee cap surgery this past summer.

 

Jamie was intubated on the afternoon of Dec 2nd after a 10 day stay in Macomb, IL hospital and sent by helicopter to St. Louis. We will be updating this page as we get more information.

 

Update 12/3 morning:

Uneventful night

Lot of ECMO support and cutting down ECMO setting slowly

Not decreasing sedation because they need a lot sedation to keep ECMO running

O2 at 90% want it to be 80* This is the key thing

Good heart vitals

 

Update 12/2 evening:

Talked to his Pulmonologist. They did a procedure to remove the blood clots from his lungs. Got most of them out of the one side. Hoping blood thinners will do the rest. Some blood clots in legs sounds like blood thinner will get those. Still a long road but sounds less grim. Survival rate of ECMO machine is 47% but doc feels he will be on the better side of that. Anything can happen on blood clots so keep praying. We will hopefully be able to see him in a bit.
