Jamie Cantrell Memorial Fund

Jamie & Bill Cantrell are servants.

They have served our community through a variety of events and organizations throughout their marriage. Their consistency and joyful attitude throughout that service have made them precious to many of us in the Springfield area. I have known Bill & Jamie for over a decade, serving alongside them at Remington's and now at the historic Gillioz Theatre, where Bill serves as Front of House Manager and Jamie served as a volunteer for years.

Jamie's health struggles have culminated with her passing on November 1, 2022, quite suddenly. Jamie's passage leaves a void in many lives and organizations. Her intellect, humor, compassion, and candor made any room brighter.

Bill and Jamie seem the ideal couple. Their humor, passion for music, and sacrificial servant hearts exemplified kindred spirits. The void that Bill now faces is vast. That's where we come in.

Beyond the emotional challenges that lie ahead are some fiscal realities. Like most of us, Bill & Jamie had a life built around a two-income household that is no longer earning two incomes. The time it takes for Bill to address these commitments is the time that the meter continues to run. There will be short-term shortfalls to address as Bill adjusts to his long-term loss.

We want to bridge that shortfall and give Bill the time he needs to honor financial obligations and not jeopardize his future. This tragedy was sudden and unexpected. We want to create a margin for Bill to get his bearings and make wise and healthy next steps.
