Jamie's Sanctuary
Donation protected
Hi my name is Ronald Aitchison, I am 73 years of age from Fauldhouse, West Lothian.
I am raising money in aid of my Grandson Jamie Aitchison who sadly took his own life in December of 2022 due to his long battle against mental health.
His Mother, Debbieanne is in early stages of setting up a charity in Jamie's name, Jamie's Sanctuary, and should be registered in the next couple of months. All money raised will be held until the charity has been registered.
Myself and my friend, Frances Mahon, will be canoeing from Falkirk Wheel to Edinburgh on the Union Canal on the 20th of May to raise awareness for all who is suffering from mental health and to keep my Grandson Jamie's name alive. Following shortly after, myself and Jamie's Step Dad, John Knox, will be walking the West Highland Way on the 15th-22nd of September which constists of 96 miles. I will turn 74 on the last day of this walk.
I lost my son George to a heart attack 5 years ago and to the deepest sadness, never thought that exactly 5 years later I would have to walk beside my grandson on the very same day of 27th January. The loss of both members of my family have been devasting to us all. Jamie was only 20 years old and we have had massive support throughout his loss over the past 5 months so we want to do everything we can to help other young people and families suffering from this horrible illness.
So any donations would be greatly appreciated and all money raised will go towards Jamie's Sanctuarys first project of a mobile mental bus.
Thank you for the continued support, its much appreciated
