Jamies Thank You

Our son Jamie was born in Letterkenny University Hospital in September 2022. Immediately after his birth he struggled with his breathing. The next day doctors told us they had contacted Neo Natal teams in Dublin. Within hours Jamie was on his way to ICU in Temple Street Childrens Hospital. There he was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Syndrome, a condition where babies are born with a small lower jaw, have difficulties breathing and often will have a cleft palate. Jamie has all of these symptoms. Temple Street Hospital became home for Jamie for the next 27 weeks. The care he received was second to none. Jamies spent his first night at home in April 2023.
Over the course of those weeks, we as a family received help & advice from a number of charities, we were so grateful for their support. We now would like to fund raise for the charities that helped us along our journey, so that they can continue to help families of children in hospital for prolonged periods of time.
In October 2023 we are having 2 events in Burtonport Community Centre to say thanks to the charities.
Firstly, on Saturday 14th October we are having a Mammies Market – Where we will accept donations of new and good quality secondhand baby & children's items – Toys, clothes, and baby equipment. Our second event on Sunday 15th October, will be a vintage style tea party.
The Charities that will benefit from the proceeds of the weekend are:
⦁ Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street
⦁ Donegal Cancer Flights & Services
⦁ Bumbleance
⦁ Blood Bikes Northwest
⦁ Little Blue Heros
If you cannot attend the events we would gladly appreciate any donations that you can give here.
