Jamikka Binge Olive
Donation protected
I am the Aunty to Jamikka Binge-Olive who passed suddenly after having a seizure on Friday 28th of July. I am hoping to raise money to help ease the pain of her parents who lost a daughter, her 2 children Leteikka and Leondre who lost a mother and her siblings who lost a sister.
I know times are hard however the family would appreciate your kindness by donating.
Please take the time to read Jamikka’s story and learn how the system failed her in her time of need.
The previous month Jamikka was savagely and brutally bashed in the ladies toilet at the Casino RSM club.
Friday 23rd June
Jamikka Binge attended a fundraiser at the Casino RSM club to support the Bundjalung Baygals football team! She used the ladies toilets and was verbally abused, she chose to walk away and as she opened the door to leave her perpetrator proceeded to pull Jamikka by the hair backwards onto the ground and brutually assaulted her.
After the incident Casino police were called to the club for the assault but instead of helping Jamikka Binge they proceeded to taser and pepper spray patrons at the front of the club.
I was told by the Casino RSM club manager Neil, that the ambulance was called at 12 midnight and what should of taken a 5 minute drive took 54 minutes despite there being a new multimillion dollar Ambulance station opened in Casino that week!
Jamikka Binge-Olive had to be escorted through the back door of the club by her brother to get into his car to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
Jamikka Binge-Olive presented to the Casino hospital, only to have a skype consultation with a Dr and sent home with a butterfly stitch to her eye and a panadol for a sprained brain which was the diagnosis!!
Why wasn't Jamikka Binge-Olive kept in for observation until police could attend to her at the hospital?
Why wasn't Jamikka Binge-Olive transported to a bigger hospital for scans on her head considering the severity of the brutal attack?
Why did the ambulance take so long to attend the scene?
Saturday 24th June
I was informed about what had happened to Jamikka Binge-Olive and contacted the Nursing Unit Manager at the Casino Hospital who told me they was advised that police weren't called to the hospital as they were on the scene at the club. She wasn't much help but asked if Jamikka could return to the Casino hospital for further checks. When I called later, I heard the Dr on duty say you have a sprained brain and still she wasn't sent to Lismore!! She presented to the Casino AMS on Monday where she was sent for a CT scan to see if she had any fractures to her face!!!
I then called the Casino Police and was diverted to the Lismore station and I explained I was Jamikka Binge-Olives Aunty, the young girl that was assaulted the Casino RSM Club and that she wanted to make a statement and have the perpetrators charged, he pulled me up and said, hang on, hang on well decided who we do and don't charge! I said, righto you do that and as her Aunty i'll be making it my business to expose you in the media. Later on that day police eventually went to see her and took a statement as she could hardly see out of her eyes and couldn't walk.
Sunday 25th June
Police request Jamikka Binge-Olive to attend the station to make another statement despite her injuries.
Monday 26th June
I went to the media as the treatment my niece received from the front line services are supposed to help failed her!!
Why did the police ignore her?
Why didn't the ambulance arrive on scene for 54 minutes?
Why didn't the hospital give the same equitable care other victims receive?
Tuesday 27th June
I called Casino police station yet again to see if they were following up with Jamikka Binge-Olives case but instead of giving me an answer, I was interrogated about going to the media. Our pleas for help were falling on deaf ears.
Wednesday 28th June
Police eventually located one of her perpetrators and formally charged her and she was given bail and a AVO with conditions.
In the month leading up to her death Jamikka was terrorised, traumatised and tormented by her perpetrator and their family.
Since the night of the brutal attack a multiple amount of posts were made on multiple social media platforms making fun of Jamikka and intimidating her.
Prior to this Jamikka had no known medical conditions. Sadly Jamikka’s Mother and Father rushed her to Casino Hospital but they was unable to revive her. She had just taken a photo of her perpetrator breaching her bail conditions to show to the police.
Jamikka had a heart of gold, she was a Mother to 2 young children who will never get to see their Mother again all because of violence.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated to contribute towards her funeral costs and to help raise her 2 young children.
