Jamilyn's Recovery Fund

Jamilyn and Travis were married in 2018 having been each other's first partners. In the ensuing years, they grew together and were finally going to be able to take their own real vacation together. Instead, it turned into the worst day imaginable. Early in the morning of August 13th 2021, the day they were to leave on their vacation, tragedy struck Jamilyn and Travis. Around 3 a.m. they were awoken from their sleep by someone attacking them with a knife. In the ensuing struggle, Travis gave his life to save Jamilyn. Jamilyn was transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds where doctors were able to operate, stabilize, and have started her rehabilitation therapy. It was at the hospital that she learned that her husband had died. Travis was 26 years old.

The police are still investigating the attack.

While Jamilyn survived the attack, she has a long and difficult path ahead of her. She suffered 19 stab wounds, a fractured skull, a fractured shoulder blade, 2 fractured vertebrae, and some nerve damage, the extent of which has yet to be determined. A surgery is coming up soon to determine the nerve damage severity and prognosis for recovery. Jamilyn's road to recovery is not only physical but also mental and emotional as she faces both the loss of her soul mate and the inevitable changes her life will now have.

This page was created to support Jamilyn's potential medical and other life expenses. Jamilyn and Travis did not have extensive savings and Jamilyn will be unable to work for months to come. Jamilyn has never asked for assistance before and feels uncomfortable doing so. However, she cannot maintain car payments and life expenses without help from others.
