Jamison’s Dysautonomia Diagnosis & Finances
Donation protected
Hello everyone, My name is Nathan. I am Jamison’s roommate, and I created this fundraiser for his finances.
After battling COVID and a nasty viral infection early October of 2023, Jamison’s health has continually declined. He has been in 4 different emergency rooms in a short period of time, and has been in doctor’s and specialist’s appointments since. It is very hard mentally and physically for him to do much of anything anymore. In January of 2024, he was given a P.O.T.S. diagnosis (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and his symptoms continually get worse every single day. He also was diagnosed with familial dysautonomia, which is a genetic disorder affecting his nervous system that comes with a reduced life expectancy. The doctors don’t know when, but say his nervous system will start attacking itself and cause his organs to slowly shut down. He was admitted to Vanderbilt for 5 days in February where they suspected he had CIDP. This has absolutely wrecked his life even more. He is basically paralyzed from mid-thigh down, and it has put him in much pain and discomfort. He still struggles very heavily with POTS symptoms such as: fainting, seizures, SOB, chest pain, high heart rate, brain fog, tremors, confusion, temperature deregulation, difficulty swallowing, and he gets maximum of 4 hours of sleep even with sleeping medication.
If you know Jamison, you know he was the picture of health prior to this. He loved working out, working at Chick-Fil-A, and hanging out with friends. I can’t imagine what he must feel like having his entire life flipped upside down in an instant. He is practically bedridden at this point. He is wheelchair bound, uses a rollator to get around the house, and unable to drive. On top of all these doctor visits, he has been out of work due to his health since the end of December. He is trying his best to make ends meet, but specialist are pretty expensive. He has applied for disability, but you know that is a lengthy process! I want him to get the help he needs!
I created this fundraiser to alleviate some of the financial stress that he’s been put under. I can’t imagine being out of work so long not knowing if you’re going to be able to pay your bills. If you know Jamison you know he is joyful, caring, and compassionate. You also know he doesn’t like when people feel sorry for him, but it hurts my heart to see him like this. I know that Jamison would be extremely grateful for any amount donated. Even if it’s words of encouragement, a handwritten card, or a fond memory you have with him. I hope you will join me in prayer that he will be healed and return his life back to some-what normal! Thank you for everything and your time!
(We also created a Facebook group called “Bullock’s Besties” that we put updates and joyful memories with him in.)
