Help fund the Jan Pecar Memorial Scholarship

Jan Pecar was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend! She was a loving and dedicated Registered Nurse for over 36 years before having to retire early due to her early onset dementia diagnosis at age 57. After graduating high school, she attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing where she obtained her nursing degree. Being a nurse and helping others is all Jan ever wanted to do.

She had an amazing zest for life. She loved her family and friends fiercely. Jan enjoyed going on vacations to Myrtle Beach, Madison, IN, and her family clubhouse. She loved playing games with her siblings and grandchildren. Jan would light up a room and had a laugh that was truly contagious! Everyone that knew her, loved her!

Jan went home to Jesus on November 21, 2023 after gracefully living with her aggressive Alzheimer's diagnosis for almost 9 years. She was such a joy to be around, right up to the end.

Jan was preceded in death by her son Matt (Kristen), father David, and other family and friends. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughters Kristi (Ryan) and Kim, mother Rose, siblings Andy (Sherry), Kathy (Larry), David (Rhonda), Chris, and Ron (Ann), as well as her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, various other family members, and wonderful friends.

Jan's family has started the Jan Pecar Memorial Scholarship that will be given to a chosen nursing student each year in her honor. There is very little that Jan loved more than helping others. This scholarship enables Jan to go on helping others, even after going home to Heaven.
