Jana Post-Cancer Surgery Funding

Jana's story in her own words:

In June 2022 I was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma Bone Cancer in South Africa. Soon thereafter I started my journey with chemotherapy until January this year. During this time the Lord blessed my family and me with His hand of protection and my body responded well to the chemotherapy. In October of 2022, my tumor shrunk significantly and made it possible for my surgeon to take out my humerus and radiate it independently before he placed the dead bone (free of cancer) back in my body. I had the opportunity to come back to school in January as the Lord graciously put that desire in my heart. Unfortunately in March, we found a reoccurring tumor and I had to go back to South Africa for further treatment. My friends, my family and I prayed, fasted, and said, Lord let my life be a living testimony of your loving kindness. In May the Lord heard our prayers and received news that I have a pathological fracture but no cancer is to be seen. A month later I received a donor bone to stabilize my shoulder and prevent future fractures. Unfortunately July bought some challenges, I was admitted to drain an infection out if my muscles, hardware and bone and started antibiotics for the next month until I was able to start my 5th and last year of college in the US.

Currently, I am battling another infection and have been placed in good care to try to get rid of it by going for two surgeries at UCI Medical Center. Prior to my next visit with the surgeon, I am required to go for 3 scans to look at my lungs, humerus, and shoulder and rule out the possibility of cancer before we progress with surgery to take out my plates. Once the plates are out of the area x I will be on 6 weeks of antibiotics before we consider another reconstructive surgery.

Jana needs all the help that she can get! We want to help Jana along the way as surgery and cancer are a HUGE financial toll and we would love to open up the possibility of providing Jana with the finances to fight this battle here in America, if not that we want to help financially support her and her family even if that means she needs to go back to South Africa.
