"Give to others and it will come back tenfold"
My parents shared this quote with me at a young age, and throughout my life I've tried my best to live by its message. I've donated to charities. helped families in need, sponsored children in Africa, and bought Christmas gifts for under privileged children. Yet despite all this, I've never actually dedicated my time to one particular charity.
Recently, I’ve felt the need to get involved on a personal level and make more of an impact. I became good friends with John Guido, the Executive Director and Founder of the Jane Guido Foundation. John’s mom, Jane, dedicated her life to community service by helping those in need of food, clothing and life's necessities. In 2017, Jane was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. After a hard-fought battle, Jane passed surrounded by her loving family. It was then that John and his family decided to continue her legacy of helping those in need and created the Jane Guido Foundation (janeguidofoundation.org ). The Mission is to feed the hungry, clothe the less fortunate and support families and individuals that have fallen on hard times. The foundation partners with outreach organizations, food pantries and other charitable organizations with the same goal of helping those in need.
After attending a couple of events and seeing the passion and enthusiasm of the board I have decided to become part of the Jane Guido Foundation. Currently, the Foundation focuses its efforts in Suffolk County. My charge will be to help grow in Nassau County.
I need your support to help me raise $4,000 in the next Four weeks so we can help so many in need – especially as we approach the cold weather and the Holiday season. While we all have our problems and issues, we rarely take a step back and realize how truly blessed we are. There are so many who are far less fortunate than us and don't need much to make life just little bit better: a cup of coffee, hot food and a warm safe place to sleep. I can't adequately explain how excited I am to be a part of such a wonderful undertaking. Please help me kick off my first charitable campaign by donating even a little.
Let’s see how quickly we can hit the goal! For those who may want to get more involved in our charity, please let me know.
I thank you all in advance of your wonderful generosity!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
