Help Janelle Fight
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Janelle Grandy. I have been through a lot of things since I was the age of 7. In 1990, I was diagnosed with Leukemia, in 1993, I relapsed and ended up having a bone marrow transplant, which cured me of the Leukemia. Since this I have been through many surgeries and hospitals due to infections in my body due to a low immune system. In 2013, I was diagnosed with severe renal failure. I followed this condition to try and keep it under control but unfortunately in January of 2015, I had no choice but to become a dialysis patient. I am currently on the kidney transplant list, praying that I can receive a kidney soon so that I can get back to a normal life. I would like to receive a live donor, the statistic say that receiving a live donor is best because it will last 5-10 years longer. I can also receive a deceased donor kidney as well. Just this year on March 19, 2015, I spent 1 month in the hospital due to infection in my body again. I also found out that I had a blockage in my knee, which was causing very poor circulation from my leg to my foot; therefore, causing me to have my first three toes on my right foot to be amputated.
Although I have been going through a lot of things every since I was a young child, I just thank God that I am still here. I know that God has a plan for my life, so even though it gets very hard sometimes I am still pressing forward and trying to live everyday being grateful and thankful that God has allowed me another day. Sometimes as I think about my life and all that I have been through and still going through, I tear up, cry, and sometimes I get little depressed. In spite of this though I still manage to smile, and encourage others to push forward. I thank God that I have a pretty fantastic support system, that I believe keeps me going as well. A friend once told me, Janelle, I admire you because no matter what you are going through your attitude never changes. You are going through a lot right now but you are still smiling and not allowing it to change your attitude. My response was, “Well just because I’m, going through something, why should I have an attitude with the world or the people in my surroundings, it’s not y’all fault. Another friend that I talked to about my situations when they get next to me told me to keep my head up cause God has a plan for you and know that God gives his biggest battles to his strongest troopers and girlfriend that is you.
Yes, I am a survivor of many things. No matter what I go through I manage to come out on top. I know it’s because I have a great support system and some praying warriors on my side. I would be grateful and I am asking for the help of this world, whether it be prayers or gifts in the form of donation of a kidney and funds and help me get through this process.
I would like to say in advance, thank you for all your help in whatever way you decide to contribute!
