Help Peppermint finish her Music Video!

AN UPDATE ABOUT THE UPDATE:

I couldn't be more grateful for all the love and support.

When I first decided to do the video I had no idea how much it would cost. I know videos are expensive. I almost passed out when I saw the $30,000 price tag but I knew it was worth it so I was going to try to do it all on my own, picking up extra shifts auditioning for projects I wasn't really passionate about, playing the lottery. Then someone suggested go fund me and I sent my first goal just to help with 30% of the cost and I would figure out the rest, thanks to all of your support, we exceeded the initial lower level goal and made 50% of the cost. So I'm raising the goal to cover some additional expenses associated with the video, which will allow me to create the video without going inter Financial distress.. I'm still paying for a lot of the video out of pocket but reason this money will allow everyone to get paid on time and for the video to come out sooner.

First thing first: why in the world do I want to make a Janet Jackson tribute Music Video??

Janet Jackson is an icon, a multi-talented artist and role model for me and countless others in endless ways. Her music, dancing, acting, and artistry have brought joy and inspiration to millions around the world. I have always been drawn to Janet's videos. They are stunning, innovative, and ALWAYS push boundaries. She spoke to me at an early age... you should have seen me in my pajamas at 10 years old, learning the choreography to Rhythm Nation, wearing out my VHS tape!

As a live performer and creative, I believe that art has the power to heal, to inspire, and to change the world.

This isn't a money making Venture for me personally. The film/TV strikes have left many people in the arts struggling to make ends meet. Art and activism often work together, so I'd like to do something to help. This project will provide work opportunities for dancers, filmmakers, and other members of the LGBTQ+ community. I am committed to creating a project that is inclusive, diverse, and celebrates the power of art.
