Janet Johnson Accident Support and Recovery
Donation protected
March 10th Janet was involved in a very serious accident in Lovettsville, VA. She was airlifted to Fairfax INOVA and admitted to the trauma ICU. She suffered multiple fractures in both of her legs, a broken arm as well as multiple other fractures. She is also working through many internal injuries. As of March 15th, she has already been through multiple surgeries and she has more yet to come. She has a long journey of recovery ahead.
Many have asked how they can help...There are multiple ways suggested by the family.
1) Prayer: Please continue to pray for Janet, her family and the team that is caring for her. The power of prayer by name is a powerful thing. Pat will continue to update us with the names of her recovery team so we can do just that.
2) Federal Leave Donation: If you are a federal employee, Pat is looking into the leave donation process. This could help her with additional paid leave while she is in recovery down the road. Details will be added at a later time.
3) Donate blood! If you are able to donate blood, please do so in Janet's name. Through her multiple surgeries, she has used a fair amount and it is a great way to ensure others are able to have the same available to them when they are in need.
4) Share your time: The hospital visiting hours are quite limited due to COVID restrictions. There is a lot of time Pat, Victoria and Joshua will not be allowed the hospital and could use company so they are not consumed with Janet's absence. Spend time with the family to help minimize that void.
5) Share a meal: A meal train has been set up through April. If you would like to bring them a meal, please sign up at: www.mealtrain.com/trains/yen2qe
6) Donate funds through this fundraiser. There will be more than just medical costs that will catch the Johnson Family by surprise through this long process ranging anywhere from medical to travel related costs to adjustments they may need to make to their home to accommodate Janet through her recovery.

Morning all,
Many have asked where Janet is receiving her care. Janet is in Fairfax INOVA in the trauma ICU She is being taken care of by a wonderful team of special people. Today at a time TBD she will go back into surgery for repair to her right femur, Dr. Greg Gaskin is the surgeon. Janet may have the ventilator removed after the surgery today as she gets stronger each day despite all the back and forth to the OR. I will update later today.
Thanks to all who have provided food and donations. From the bottom of our hearts we are so grateful for the love, prayer and concerns flooding in from the entire community. It's very obvious Janet has touched many lives and now in her time of need all have returned the love. Please keep praying for her speedy recovery, pray for the great people takin care of her and for her children Joshua and Victoria.
Thank you all very much
Pat
