Janey Kanter - Kauai Flood Recovery

Most of you have heard about the devastating storm and flooding on the North Shore of Kauai.

Our dear friend Janey and her family were especially hit hard.  They got out just in time in chest deep water with the twins in their arms…..

 Both cars were totaled….

All structures on the rental property are unsalvageable and will be taken down.

Just last summer Janey invested in refurbishing her home to have a comfortable place for her husband, Alton, to spend his last days.

There is car insurance, but no insurance on the buildings or contents.

Janey and family have a place to stay until the end of May. She is taking each day at a time and also thinking ahead to a silver lining. Janey is the most optimistic person I know. She is fragile but holding up well and being strong for Lea and the twins.

There is another gofundme page on facebook for the family, but we thought there are many of Janey’s friends who are not on Lea’s facebook page and would like to help Janey.

She will need cash to  get set up again and also provide for her a small space to live quietly so she can begin to heal and get back to her active life as a caregiver for the twins, her massage practice and tai chi school.

 Any amount is greatly appreciated. We will update you all frequently.
