Janice Tubbs Memorial Fund

Janice Tubbs spent her life giving to others selflessly. She did so not only as a wife, but as a mother, a grandmother, a friend, a sister, and a nurse. She has touched the lives of so many with her kindness, grace, and loving heart.
For 35 years as an award winning nurse, she impacted so many people she came in contact with.  Her family and friends always knew she was an extraordinary nurse, and after her passing have learned even more about how she touched the lives of colleagues and patients alike.  She had inspired many to pursue nursing careers, advocated for patient rights, created support groups, and supported friends who were going through tough times.  The patient she has aided the most is her devoted and loving husband John Tubbs. She did all of this with such positive energy, the desire to help others, and all the love in her heart. 
Her path to becoming a nurse was not short or easy. After high school, Janice packed her bags and moved back to the Carolinas to start her nursing education and career. She worked full time and paid for her classes as she could until she finished her degree. Her family remembers her talking about how hard those years were but how happy she was that she finally got the opportunity to do what she always wanted to do.  She setan example for her children that hard work, compassion for others, and doing something you enjoy lead to a fulfilling career path. 
In her honor, her family would like to continue giving to others by establishing a scholarship for Johnstown-Monroe High School students who shall pursue a career in nursing.  Thank you for helping her wonderful legacy to live on by inspiring and helping others like Janice Tubbs.
