Janis Johnson Breast Cancer Fund

On July 22, 2021, our mom got the devastating news that she has breast cancer. After meeting with the oncologist a week later we found out that the type of breast cancer she has is a Triple Negative Breast Cancer with Her2 characteristics. This type of tumor is an aggressive tumor which will require an aggressive treatment plan with chemotherapy, starting immediately. On August 10th, surgery was scheduled for a medicine port to be placed in her chest because the veins can NOT support the chemotherapy. During that procedure, she aspirated while under anesthesia and the surgical team admitted her to stay so they could keep a close watch on her lungs. After a full day of being at the hospital, her lungs cleared and she was able to go home. On August 16th she had her first successful chemo treatment but this would be the first treatment of many. Chemo along with surgery will follow over the next 16 weeks with a decision to either have a mastectomy or lumpectomy. Depending on the decision of surgery and the shrinkage of the tumor, radiation may follow. Our mother is single and living off a single income which is why we wanted to start the go fund me page to help assist her through these troubling times. Medical bills, medicine, time off from work and doctors visits are causing financial stress so we would like to help make this process as stress-free as possible. Any donations will go towards, medical bills, medicine, gas, and any household bills that can’t be paid due to being sick, or out of work because of doctors appointments or surgery.
