DR Service Learning Trip
Donation protected
As I enter the last semester of my 3-year masters program in Professional Counseling Psychology with a Trauma Specialization at Lesley University, I can truly say that I am proud of how I have grown and continue to grow as a person and as a clinician. It has been an incredibly challenging and rewarding few years.
This March, I have the amazing opportunity to expand my clinical skills even further by participating in a service-learning trip to the Dominican Republic. This experience will allow me to blend my academic knowledge with real world experience to provide therapy (including art therapy and dance movement therapy) to children and adults in the small impoverished village of Villa Caoba, in La Romana, DR
The cost of the trip is expensive. As an unpaid intern and graduate student I am unable to afford it.
I sincerely appreciate any donation.
If money is not something you feel comfortable donating, another great need is to collect donations for the children and adults living in the Villa Caoba community, which is greatly impoverished. Basic personal care items, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, brushes, combs, clothes for children, socks, underwear, sneakers, pants, shorts, etc. are all welcome. Also, art supplies would be a welcome donation, as Art Therapy projects will be a major component of this trip. The goal is for each volunteer to collect and bring 1 suitcase for their personal use, and 1 suitcase full of items to be given to individuals in the community.
Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to sharing this experience with all of you!
