Jannah Fliegel & Benny Martinez

Jannah and Mark met in 2016. Our community knows this couple- both independently and together as true locals: always the supporters of local establishments; always there to give back to the community; always the life of the party; always full of ideas, love and life. Having never crossed paths, the two met at Keegan Ales, where their contagious smiles connected instantly. Friends with them that night thought Mark and Jannah were old friends reconnecting: It was love at first sight. From this night, the two became inseparable. In 2019 Mark & Jannah's hearts nearly exploded when they became pregnant with Benny. Benny wears that same smile and holds all the lovely qualities of his parents combined.

Sadly this love story took a dreadful turn in late May when Mark was admitted to the hospital with a fever and trouble breathing. Unfortunately, Mark suffered a handful of illnesses that could have been managed separately, but because they happened simultaneously, they became a much larger issue.

Mark spent six weeks in ICU, and when he was almost on the mend, he had an incredible setback that turned fatal. Taking medical personnel and family by surprise, Mark's time on earth ended tragically on July 8th, 2022.

Mark was the primary breadwinner for the family and is leaving behind his fiancé, Jannah and two-year-old Benny Alan Martinez. Mark is also the father of two older boys: Noah, 24, whom is a chef & Javier, 17, both soon-to-be college freshmen.

This Gofundme aims to give Benny and Jannah a small cushion of support in the coming year and to help start a college fund for Benny. In an attempt to adapt to this new world, Jannah and Benny will be moving in with her parents in Phoenecia, NY, until they can figure out their next steps.

Jannah has been struggling to juggle hospital visits and being home for Benny. Jannah has been unable to work for weeks due to Marks' medical demands. So many of you have asked how you can help. We greatly appreciate any contributions to this fund.
