Jared Bellows Our Fearless Fighter

Donation protected
As many of you may have heard, Jared Bellows was recently admitted into the ICU at Methodist Hospital. Jared wasn't feeling well Monday evening. He was having trouble breathing and started to cough up blood. His parents (Gene and Wendy) took him to the Urgent Care. Within a few minutes of their care, they knew Jared was in bad shape. They said he has pneumonia and that his lungs were full of blood and pus. From there Jared was transported to North Eastern Baptist Hospital. When he arrived, the staff were doing everything they could to keep him alive. Gene and  Wendy were told that Jared was had a 10% chance of making it. A blood team was then called from Methodist to North Eastern Baptist to assist Jared with an Ecmo. The Ecmo was there to put oxygen into his blood and back into his body because his lungs could not. The Ecmo helped save Jared's life. Jared seemed to get worse, so once the team got him stable enough to transport, he was transported to Methodist Hospital. Jared still continued to fight for his life. He was in system organ failure. Once he was stable enough, a team of doctors and nurses came in to start suctioning the fluid out of his lungs. The doctors were giving Jared medicine to try to get his blood pressure under control but it kept fluctuating. The doctors then decided to do an MRI and found that once of his heart valves was destroyed. From there he went into open heart surgery with a 10% chance of pulling through. Without the open heart surgery, he had a 0% chance making it. Jared is a fighter. He fought his way through the surgery and pulled through. He is still in critical condition in the ICU. he had a good night. He showed signs of biting the breathing tube which is good news. Taking it day by day. There will be ups and downs frequently. We are thankful for everyday that he is with us. Jared is one of three siblings. He is the youngest of the three and is also a Type 1 diabetic. Because of Jared's severity, he will be in the hospital for many weeks recovering. We are setting up this fundraiser for the Bellows family to help out with medical expenses as well as everyday expenses so Gene and Wendy can focus on Jared and be there for him. Anything will be tremendously appreciated!
Please keep the Bellows family in your prayers!
