Help Send Jared to Juilliard

Hi! The last time I did a GoFundMe was for my NYSSMA All-State fee for about $700, but now I'm off to bigger things. Juilliard! At my audition at Juilliard, the professor there made it very clear that if I were to be accepted, I would need to drop a pretty hefty dime for 2 separate tubas to study there. The simplest reason is, that I would need a tuba for orchestra, a contrabass tuba pitched in C, and a separate tuba for soloing and small ensembles including chamber music, a bass tuba pitched in F. Although the same instrument, both are quite different and are used for very different purposes.

Having been accepted to Juilliard is a feat that was only accomplished through hard work, the support of my family, friends, and peers, and the Bloomingdale School of Music's Music Access Project. BSM MAP prepared me for my auditions, and I currently attend on a full scholarship, which is very helpful as it provides free private lessons, ensemble time, etc which helps develop musicians. Through it, I am also a Van Lier Scholarship Winner, Mu Phi Epsilon Scholarship winner, as well as a participant in the New York Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

It means the world to me that I have an opportunity to go to the school that has been in my dreams since I was little. My late grandfather planted little seeds of Juilliard whenever I would play the piano for him, talking about how it's such a prestigious school and that I should go there. I want to attend Juilliard for the people who supported me on my journey, to honor my grandfather, as well as for myself, to become the best tuba player that I can.

All proceeds will be used towards the cost of my instruments. The professor at Juilliard explained that I would need the first tuba (C tuba) by the first day of school in late August, and the second tuba (F tuba) no later than Christmas. The first $10,000 and the second will go to each tuba respectively.
