Jared Zillig was assaulted suddenly while trying to escort someone out of work, and his injuries resulted in torn ligaments and a dislocated peck muscle. He has to go through surgery to repair the terrible damage, and will be out of commission for at least 2 months, with little to no mobility allowed for his arm, while it heals in a sling.
Since Jared is reliant on both of his arms and hands as a bartender and manager of the restaurant, it will be impossible for him to work during this time, which will result in major loss of income. And not surprisingly, he will also have to pay out of pocket for much of his medical costs (thanks a lot, healthcare system).
For all of us who know and love Jared, we know just how difficult this time will be for him. Not only will he not be able to work, which will be incredibly straining on his finances, but for even longer after he's been released medically, he will be unable to do what he loves most, which is getting outside, on the water, and doing his amazing art. Let's all throw ourselves and whatever funds we can contribute behind this kind-hearted, generous, talented soul so he can get through this and out the other side. After all, he would do the same for us.
