Jared's Scoliosis Medical Fund

I am a single mom to a wonderful 15 year old special needs teenager.  He is the most important person in my life. On July 5, 2016 I took Jared to his  what was suppose to be a normal yearly wellness visit with his pediatrician. I was told he needed to see a Scoliosis specialist because he had a curve in his spine measuring at 17 degrees. At that time we were told they would probably take a x-ray and closely monitor him. The closest appointment I could get was for Thursday, July 28, 2016. While at the appointment we were told the curve had progressed to a 60 degree curve and he would need surgery. Sooner rather than later. I felt like my world had just turned upside down. My heart was crushed. It got even worse when the doctor said he was concern that due to Jared's medical issues from birth (pelvic kidney and motor tics) there might be something tethered in his spine. They sent Jared to have 3 MRIs and 2 CTs on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Well on Tuesday, August 9th we finally received some good news. There is nothing tethered in his spine! Our heavenly father heard our prayers! Thank you all for your prayers. Now since nothing is in the spine they can proceed with the surgery to correct the curve. Due to Jared's spine not being as flexible as they would have liked they will only be able to correct it to a 20 and hold it there. This is a lot better than the 60 degrees that it is currently. If this surgery is not done soon and the curve progresses to a 75-95 Jared would most likely start to develop breathing problems and at 95-110 he could start developing heart problems. We do not want this to happen so surgery has been scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2016. His recovery time is expected to be 6 weeks which will include in home physical therapy and hopefully home bound school. Many people have asked how they can help me financially during this time as my ability to work will be limited. Suggestions have been made that I setup this account.
