Jaren David Rachel age 34, affectionately known as "J" or "J Rock" entered eternal rest on February 16, 2024. Born on September 6, 1989, to Peter Davy Rachel and Karen Dugue' Rachel. Beloved husband of Lucia Rachel and two children Margie and Luis Hernandez. Jaren was a resident of Marrero, Louisiana. Jaren attended Saint Anthony Elementary School in Gretna and Archbishop Shaw High School. After graduating from high school, he attended LSU of Baton Rouge, where due to his determination and perseverance, he graduated with an Electrical Engineering Degree.

Jaren met his wife Lucia Rachel 5 years ago. They were married on July 8th of 2022. He was exceptionally proud to be her husband, and the father to Margie and Luis. As a family, they enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and sports, taking trips to the beach, going to Saints and LSU games, and spending time with their friends. Jaren's favorite pastime was his love for sports, and spending time with family, especially his loving wife Lucia, children Margie, and Luis, his niece, Zoe, and nephew, Dax. Jaren loved playing with his niece and nephew so much that it was as if they were his own.

He played baseball for Kings Grant Playground and continued his baseball passion as he attended Archbishop Shaw High School. He was a pitcher and third baseman, and he received many plaques and trophies. He was given the nickname "Smooth" by one of the parents because he always moved at his own pace. Jaren loved the game so much that he recently spent time as an assistant coach for the Marrero Little League Baseball Team.

Jaren was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for approximately 5 years until he landed his dream job with Amentum as an Aviation Technician. At Amentum he worked on military equipment, specifically fighter jets. He loved his job and was excited about his work with this company.

To cherish his precious memories, he leaves his devoted wife, Lucia Rachel, two children Margie and Luis Hernandez, Parents, Peter and Karen Rachel, Sister, Jajuan Torry, Brother, Carlos Rachel (Lauren), Grandfather Clozell McDonald Sr., Aunts, Theresa Crumes (Oliver), Shirley Guidry, Lobirtha Bardell (Edgar), Darrlyin Hughes (Marvin), Larissa Rachel-Jones (Mickey), Ann Jessie (Cletis), Great Uncle, Reginald Dugue, Uncles, Ferman Rachel (Pamela), James Rachel (Vonzella), Troy Rachel (Kim), Ronald Dugue' (Alberthetta), Clozell McDonald Jr. (Tracy), Nephews, Aseiko Munson, Dax Rachel, Niece, Zoe Rachel, God Child (Saige Guidry) and a host of cousins and friends.
