Jaren Poff - Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Monday, September 26th, Jaren Poff underwent surgery in Rochester as a preventative step to manage the potential future complications of FAP (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis), the genetic disorder he was recently diagnosed with and the underlying disorder which led to the untimely death of his father Ray in the spring. Postoperative ileus and mis-diagnosed internal bleeding turned a 2-day hospital stay into a critical nightmare for him and his family. On Monday, October 3rd he was moved into ICU and an emergency 2nd surgery uncovered the internal bleeding that led to his body going into septic and cardiac shock along with a blood clot on his liver. He was placed in a medically induced coma and placed on a ventilator. Although he continues to improve and is now breathing on his own, the turmoil has left his heart weak and only 50% function of his kidneys. He may face up to 3 months of hospitalization now to recover. His Mom, Erin has attempted to remain by his bedside through this all. The financial impact on the family is immense with mounting medical costs with no end in sight, transportation back and forth to Rochester as well as lodging and food. Please consider contributing what you can so this wonderful family can focus on Jaren’s recovery instead of the stress of finances.
