Jarrett Stoner “Chasin the Dream” Fund

It’s Jarrett Stoner, graduating senior in the Rockwall High School class of 2023! I will be attending the University of Missouri where I will be a Division 1 wrestler beginning this summer. I chose Mizzou over other opportunities for both the academic quality and the challenge of wrestling for a perineal top 10 program. I’m so grateful for the opportunity as only 1% of high school wrestlers get he chance to go D1! I was born in Columbia, MO and lived there till 5th grade. I started wrestling in the same room as a youth that I will now be training in again. I’m really excited to get started! I will be heading up this June to start some classes and train with the team!

As exciting as it is, wrestling isn’t a head count sport like football where full scholarships are awarded meaning that partial scholarships are awarded. Further, they can only give 9.9 scholarships, there are 10 weight classes and 30-40 wrestlers on the roster. I’ve put in great effort in the classroom so I will receive some academic merit aid. While significant and helpful I will still have some costs to cover.

All that being said…in lieu of graduation gifts I started this fund to raise money to assist with cost of my summer wrestling (my last time to become an All-American at USA Nationals in Fargo, ND) and getting started on my journey at Mizzou, where I very much intend on becoming an NCAA All-American. Beyond NCAA I have the goal to earn my place on National team rosters to represent the USA!
