Jarrod Snipes, and his son Cole Snipes
Donation protected
Hello, I am Chuck Snipes.
My son Jarrod Snipes was born about 43 years ago at The USAF Hospital at Altus AFB, Oklahoma.
Since 2006 he has worked as a card dealer at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Wa.
On Easter Sunday Jarrod had a stroke while at home asleep. Although his son realized the next morning that something was off with his Dad, it took two more days to get him to go to Providence Hospital in Centralia, Wa. and get checked out.
They ran tests, diagnosed the stroke, and an earlier one and after two days gave him six prescriptions and sent him home with orders to locate a Primary Care Provider and see them. After countless phone calls, the soonest appointment that we could get was June 16th.
His son said that when he came home from the hospital he had a bit of slurred speech but was otherwise ok and engaging. But after a few days at home, he was withdrawn, lethargic, and not at all himself. He did not want to go to a doctor sooner than his June 16th appointment. He wanted to be left alone.
After his son called me, Cole and I took him to the hospital at Salmon Creek, Vancouver, Wa.
They saw him and within a few hours reported that he had a series of new strokes since being released from the hospital. He also has significant kidney damage, due to the very high dose of blood pressure meds and dehydration.
The MRI showed that he has had new strokes in both the front and back, on both sides of his brain.
At this time he is somewhat impaired. He does not know the day or date, what month it is, where he is, what city, or what state. If you ask him how he feels he will say that he's fine.
But let me assure you that he is not fine. He demanded that he go home from the hospital today.
The nurse talked to him. His son talked to him. The doctor even talked to him. And I finally had to get my big loving Dad face right up to his, tell him to look me right in the eye, and told him to shut up and listen to me........
When I was almost done, he agreed to stay at the hospital with no more problems. But it took all my evil Dad vibes to convince him.
Jarrod worked paycheck to paycheck with no reserve.
He can't work now and I'm quite sure that it will be at least 4 months before he will heal enough to return to work, if ever.
His son tells me that rent and electricity are due soon.
I would like to raise enough money for Jarrod and Cole to pay their rent and household bills for three or four months.
We are hopeful that in a few months, he will heal and be able to return to work as a card dealer.
I ask that you donate a few bucks, whatever you can afford, and help out my son Jarrod and his son Cole Snipes now in their time of need.
