Gone too soon. Let’s help the Luna-Salazer family following the tragic passing of their wife and mother, Jarumi. The Luna-Salazers are part of our soccer family and we feel her loss keenly.
When you think of a warm smile, a mother, a wife, a confidant, and a friend, you picture, Jarumi. She was the epitome of a kind, caring, selfless, and good person. Unfortunately, she lost her life to cancer. She spent her last days caring for her husband, Oscar, who is blind, and their three sweet boys: Oscar (10), Joaquin (7), and Ismael (2).
Jarumi was at every soccer game cheering on Oscar and Joaquin. She loved her sons fiercely. We are sure that her spirit will continue to watch over her boys as they grow into fine young men.
It’s the little things in life that leave an impact on those left behind. Jarumi’s infectious smile, deep devotion to family, selflessness, and kindness will always live on in our hearts. Her absence at games, potlucks, parties, and other events is already felt.
Jarumi was the best baker! Her non-dairy tres leches peach cake was a taste explosion in your mouth (see picture of cake she created for our boys below).
When she invited us over for a bowl of pozole she would serve a tureen filled with honest to goodness the best pozole you’ve tasted. And the “bowl” she shared with you was enough to feed a family of four! If you told her once how much you liked something, the next time she’d see you, she’d share a meal of your favorite thing. She cared about you, your family, and your needs. She put you first, always selfless, never taking.
Compassion and empathy are contagious. Kindness is infectious. Jarumi had these qualities and brought out the best in people. She made you feel cared about and loved. When talking with her, you were the focus even when she had a million things going on. She didn’t tell anyone she was sick because she took care of others rather than being doted on herself. Her passing is a shock to her family, friends, and loved ones.
Jarumi only wanted the best for her husband and boys and any donation would be greatly appreciated. All donations will cover funeral and burial costs and directly support her sons.
We love and miss you, Jarumi! You are forever in our hearts and your legacy lives on.
I hope many people donate to help this family.
