Jase and Georgia Peters for Team Canada

Our names are Jase (17) and Georgia (15) Peters. We are both part of the Lambton Shores Dragon Boat Club Junior Team – Super Strokers. Jase joined the club in 2016, Georgia followed suit 2017. They each started as a drummer and fell in love with the sport and became paddlers immediately. Our passion for the sport grew with each passing year as we continued to develop with the team and gained some lifelong friendships. Over the years, we have had many friends and teammates make the World team and we had set a goal, that if the opportunity arose, we would like to try out for the Team Canada National Junior Teams. In September of 2022, that opportunity came. We started training. We went to many training camps, trained with our coach and in the gym. At the selection camp in Montreal in May 2023 we found out we both have been selected to represent our Club and Canada at the 16th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships 2023 in Thailand. We leave July 30th and Race in August. The proceeds from this will be used to help us with our hotels, plane tickets, Team Canada Jerseys etc. We are very grateful for this opportunity, to represent Team Canada, our club and Lambton Shores.
