Jaskaran Singh Sandhu’s Funeral & Family Support
Donation protected
We are devastated to share the heartbreaking news of the tragic passing of Jaskaran Singh Sandhu, a bright and hardworking 21-year-old from Surrey, BC. Jaskaran lost his life in a senseless act of violence after being assaulted and fatally stabbed near Surrey Central around 10 PM on Sunday, November 17th. His untimely departure has left his family, friends, and community in deep grief.
Jaskaran came to Canada in December 2022 from Joian, Mansa, Punjab, as a student with dreams of building a better future for himself and his family. He worked tirelessly, balancing his studies and job at Walmart in Surrey Central, to support his financially struggling family back in India. Despite his own challenges, Jaskaran’s kindness and dedication touched everyone who knew him.
Now, his family faces the unbearable pain of losing their beloved son and brother, alongside the financial burden of arranging his funeral and sending his body back to India for final rites. As per Sikh traditions, a dignified funeral and cremation ceremony is a crucial part of the grieving process. Unfortunately, the costs have exceeded what his family and friends can afford.
We are coming together as a community to raise funds to:
- Cover the costs of Jaskaran’s funeral and Sikh cremation ceremony in Surrey.
- Repatriate his body to India, fulfilling his family’s wish to perform his last rites in his hometown.
- Provide financial support to his grieving family, who relied heavily on his contributions.
Jaskaran was a son, a brother, and a friend who dreamed of making a difference. His life was tragically cut short, but together, we can honor his memory by ensuring he receives a proper farewell.
We humbly request your support during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to our goal and ease the burden on his grieving family.
Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and compassion.
