Jasmine Medical Emergency
Donation protected
My son Max and I are fundraising for our 2 year old indoor-cat, Jasmine, aka JJ aka Usagi, aka babybaby.
Jasmine fell from our 6th floor apt window on Saturday Nov 6 and broke her front two arms. My neighbors found Jasmine in the backyard of our apartment building the morning after. Although we are very lucky to find her still alive, it was devastating to find her with broken arms, cold, and alone.
The bone fracture happened on both of her arms above her wrist (see xray below). Because she is young, luckily we do not need to amputate her arms. The surgery is rather complex and requires immediate attention otherwise Jay will suffer long-term pain and difficulties maneuvering.
I have visited three veterinarians this past week and have opted for the less expensive surgery proposed by the BluePearl Veterinary Partners which is to surgically implant pins at the fractured bones and hope that the pins stay in place and encourage the millimeter bones to properly heal. There is a 50/50 chance that the procedure will be successful.
Jasmine is a special part of our family. I'm currently unemployed and this medical emergency has been very difficult emotionally and financially. Thank you so much for your support to help encourage a long and happy life for Jasmine and to reduce the stress associated with the financial emergency.
