Jasmine "Jazzy" Hebert/Davis Family Memorial Fund
Backstory:
On December 23rd 2018, Jasmine “Jazzy” Hebert (age 19) was involved in a fatal automobile accident. She was LifeFlighted to UMC-New Orleans, spent 2 weeks in the UMC-New Orleans ICU, but after fighting with every last bit of her will, strength, courage, and with the power of love from family, on January 2nd, 2019, Jasmine’s body finally succumbed to the severe and mortal injuries.
Purpose of the Fund:
The purpose of this effort is to not just honor the life and legacy of Jasmine “Jazzy” Hebert, but to honor by providing financial relief to her parents Sean and Rachael Davis, as they not only deal with the death of their daughter but with the enormous costs incurred from emergency transport, trauma care, lodging, and the impact of loss-of-work/income as they stayed by their baby-girl in New Orleans during her life-death struggle.
PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN or AS MUCH YOU CAN. I know the goal seems high, but it is the reality of the monetary cost it took to try and save her and that debt is still owed even when the effort it paid for failed.
Additional Sentiments:
It was suggested I share the condolence I sent to Sean as it encapsulates the sentiment of many of us and is the core sentiment behind this effort:
** "I'll start by acknowledging that there is absolutely nothing I can say to you now that will ease what you are going through. While I have a daughter right at Jazzy’s age, I am well aware that until a one loses a child, one cannot begin to know what that pain feels like. One can only try to empathize by mentally putting oneself in the shoes of the man who has lost. With that being said, for me to even try to imagine walking a mile in your shoes Sean, I immediately break down to tears.
Despite the fact that all of this that I say to you now does nothing to ease your heart's burden, because I've known you for 3/4th of my life, because I call you a friend, and because you have always struck me as a man willing to sacrifice all of himself for what and who he loves, I am still powerfully compelled to try even knowing that it won't move the needle.
I also know that when one loses a loved one, and when other people try to empathize, it might make the one who lost irritated, or even angry. But you must know that is the last thing anyone wants to do. So if it has, please take my advanced apologize.
I just wanted you to know you have people who stand beside you, who are praying for you, and would do anything possible if we could make this go away. However, since we can't make it go away, we are ready to help you in whatever may we can so that you may again rise from the desert floor soaring to the mountain's peak , like the eagle you are and always will be.
I love you my brother. And i am not the only one...
My condolences to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and with the spirit of your beloved daughter Jazzy. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us, your Eagle alumni, if you need anything.
RIP Jasmine."
