Jasmine's Family House Fire Rebuilding Fund
Donation protected
A friend at work, Jasmine Dorsey, who spends her days helping transplant patients and the rest
being an awesome mom, had an electrical fire at her home in southwest Detroit on Monday. It happened while she was at the office, so she and her sons, ages 5 and 11, and 9-year-old daughter are safe. But their home is severely fire, smoke and water damaged. Unfortunately, she did not have insurance on the home. An initial estimate to even clear out the damage is $5,000 -- so she rented a dumpster and started to clean up herself. Jasmine is fiercely independent and loyal, dedicated and typically the strong
go-to person. She had to be convinced to let family, friends and the community she helps so much instead help her in her time of need.
Right now, immediate need is for financial support to hire folks to rebuild. The kids’ clothes are also severely smoke damaged, yet she said she wants to try to wash them and salvage them (that gives you an additional example of her spirit!). Anything you can do to help would be really appreciated! No donation is too small.
