Jasmine’s fight for her life!

A group of Jasmine’s friends have come together to create this GoFundMe as a means of tangible, financial support for Jasmine and her husband Mark as they embark on the biggest battle of their life.

Last year, Jasmine broke her arm in multiple places after a fall. The extensive damage to her arm was the catalyst for a series of medical tests that revealed Jasmine had a rare condition known as Cushings Disease. This wasn’t the end of the bad news as further testing revealed the devastating diagnosis that a 20cm cancerous tumour had developed on her adrenal gland.

Jasmine is now in the fight for her life as she embarks the first and biggest hurdle on Tuesday the 28th of March when she will have a mammoth 12 hour surgery. The surgery will involve the removal of the destructive cancerous tumour, kidney and adrenal gland with the possibility of other organs potentially being removed. Jasmine will spend 2 weeks in ICU and a further 3 weeks in hospital as her recovery will need to be closely monitored to ensure her body is strong enough before commencing the second hurdle - chemotherapy.

There will be a small window of time between surgery recovery and chemotherapy where Jasmine will be able to harvest her eggs. Our endeavour is to raise $15,000 as a means for financial support to give Jasmine and Mark the highest chance of success for their dream of starting a family in the future.

Any remaining funds or if we exceed our goal of $15,000 the money will support Jasmine and Mark with their mortgage. Jasmine will not be able to work for a long period of time and Mark who has already taken most of his leave will need to continue to take leave as he is by Jasmine’s side supporting her through the crucial weeks after her surgery.
