Jasmine is a caring twenty-two-year-old woman and a fur mom of two beautiful pups battling stage 4 Granulosa cell tumor cancer. Granulosa cell cancer is a rare ovarian cancer that accounts for only 2% of all ovarian tumors. Jasmine was diagnosed with ovarian cancer (granulosa cell tumor) in 2016, and she had to undergo surgeries in 2017 and 2018 to remove the tumors and some reproductive organs. She had chemo in 2019 until they cleared her cancer free. During this time, she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome and was paralyzed from the neck down, needing around-the-clock care. This resulted in having to relearn how to walk.
Jasmine thought she was in the clear and was making the most of life. She married Winter, who has been by her side the entire time and is very dedicated to her needs. They are inseparable; their love story is enough to make anyone's heart melt. Married and figuring out her career, she became a Licensed Nursing Assistant dedicating her time to putting people above herself. Jasmine is still a Nursing Assistant at a local long-term care facility and continues to work daily, still putting the needs of the elderly above her health. I had the pleasure of being her working partner for two years, and that's when she and I connected, and she became my best friend.
In 2021, she had an appointment for a routine checkup, and that was when she learned her cancer had returned. Jasmine has undergone target therapy in the past two years, several chemotherapies, and homeopathic treatments. She has traveled back and forth to Dartmouth every Friday for chemo, testing, and treatments. Two years in, and Jasmine is still fighting. She is not ready to give up. The chemo she was getting, the doctors feel, is not working anymore. She recently was offered palliative care and hospice. Jasmine is currently on many medications and has difficulty keeping anything down.
In the past months, Jasmine has had to have her lungs drained of fluid, had a blood clot scare from her PIC line, been placed on O2 for low oxygen, and has a continuous high heart rate. Jasmine's tumor is pushing on many of her organs and is about 30cm x 24cm. As I have said before, this woman is not a quitter. She has so much more life to give. She is very special to anyone that knows her. Not only is Jasmine fighting, but everyone is rooting for her. At such a young age of twenty-two, she has not lived her life to the fullest.
I am seeking financial help for Jasmine and Winter. These funds would help with travel for a second opinion, bills they have acquired for missing work more recently because of Jasmine's current symptoms, and any other wishes Jasmine may have. These funds raised would also help give Jasmine and Winter the opportunity to go to the best cancer hospital in America which is located in Texas. At this time they cannot afford it financially. Jasmine has also gotten opportunities for really great doctors in other states but they have not been able to afford the plane tickets and or hotel.
We appreciate every single donation and share you can give.
