I'm raising funds on behalf of my friends Camille and Jason. I've known them for over 10 years when we met teaching in South Korea, where she and Jason became good friends and fell in love. Camille was also my roommate, who soon became a good friend. Once we returned to State-side, we remained long-distance confidantes. I've been blessed by both of their friendships over the years. Their openness and vulnerability to share the joys and burdens in their life have always stood out to me. Together they are testament of the deep bond of marriage and friendship. Accepting the challenges of real life, I've been able to witness them move in faith of God's plan for their lives. I've been able to witness the highs and lows throughout the years, and I am grateful to have remained friends through all these years.
Camille, Jason and their two beautiful kids Daphne and Warren live in the PNW alongside their two Siamese kitties. Jason had battled and overcome brain cancer years ago. After years in remission he began to feel symptoms including extreme wt loss. Despite trying so many different interventions for weight gain, they have been unsuccessful and have been left heartbroken watching Jason lose the majority of his reserves - leaving him just skin and bones.
Despite the fatigue and weakness, Jason, Camille and their family continue to persevere through endless doctor's appointments, exams and checkups. Recently Jason was biopsied and diagnosed again with brain cancer - this time with an even more complex treatment plan, requiring specialists and referrals to a board of oncology experts to trial treatments that have never been done before.
Their journey seems to have just begun as they navigate through their insurance, doctors recommendations, appeals against their insurance, and finding their way through unfamiliar and unexpected conversations. Everything is new and everything is unknown. They are physically and emotionally exhausted and have even taken time away from work to spend this precious time together as a family - not knowing how to prepare for the future. Would you take some time to pray for them and consider donating to help them cover even a fraction of their medical costs?
