Jason's Road to Recovery from Toxic Shock Syndrome
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Christy Miller and I'm helping the family start this fundraiser to support Jason Brown.
On March 4, 2023, Jason was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at The Hospital of Central Connecticut with Toxic Shock Syndrome from a strep infection. With the severity of the infection and most of his vital organs being compromised, Jason was put on a ventilator, fighting for his life. After multiple surgeries, antibiotics and treatments, he miraculously turned the corner and started improving. He was taken off the ventilator on March 21, but the life-saving medication required to maintain his blood pressure moved blood away from his extremities and resulted in necrosis of those areas. He has had multiple surgeries, some resulting in the amputation of his fingers, toes, and parts of his feet. Going forward, intense rehab and prosthetics will help with his mobility and ability to gain back function.
It has been overwhelming in so many ways and Jason, Maria, Jason’s family, and children are all very grateful for all of the calls, texts, prayers, and support from everyone. Jason is a fighter, and we all know and love his positive attitude and amazing inner strength. He is inspiring everyone with his resilience, but this has been an incredibly traumatic and life-changing time.
Many people have been asking how they can help, and this fundraiser will allow us to provide Jason with financial support during his long recovery out of work, and help pay medical expenses towards prosthetics, etc.
If you are able, please donate. Prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated as well.
Please note: When you donate you will see a “tip” slide bar. Please customize this to $0.00 or 0% to ensure that Jason gets all of your donations rather than a tip going to GoFundMe.
