Final Expenses for Jason Cromer

I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my brother, Jason, for his unexpected funeral costs. I’m not completely comfortable with the idea, but have been told to at least put this out there.

As you all know, Jay left this world all too soon at the age of 39, after suffering from Cardiac Arrest on Christmas Eve and ultimately passing early on 12/25. He has had two open heart surgeries within the past few years with the last requiring a valve replacement and placement of a pacemaker. He continued to need ongoing medications for clotting tendencies and A-Fib. Unfortunately, in recent months he lost his health insurance and was not able to work as much with his increased symptoms, and in fact was actually doing more than he should have been because he did not want people thinking he was searching for a handout, or having a judgeful mind thinking he may have returned to a life of addiction. Which I must say he was proudly going 6 years strong with sobriety. For which we were also so proud of. Unfortunately, trying to get help with insurance was very trying, as after having his Cardiologist complete necessary forms, his information was lost multiple times. Paying for medication out of pocket was not sustainable, as just one of his medications was over $800 a month.

My brother did not have any assets, therefore there are significant out of pocket expenses with his passing. We have secured $4000 toward these expenses. However, that leaves an additional $9500 to be paid to the Funeral Home, not including the cost of the cemetery plot or a future headstone. Any balance that remains, my husband and I will accept the burden of.
