Jason Gastley's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Jason is a wonderful, loving husband to Julie and father of two little girls whom he adores - Aria and Harper.

Back in 2015, Jason began his battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and had to take powerful chemotherapy to fight off the cancer, but in the end, he was cancer free...or so we thought.

Jason had his first seizure recently on July 10,2022. The next day, he went to the ER where a CT was performed, and a golf ball size tumor was found. Unfortunately, the ER doctor said it was inoperable.

A few days later he met with a neurosurgeon who said that it would be risky to have surgery but thought he could remove some of the tumor. Jason said no to surgery and made a doctor appointment with his oncologist. His oncologist encouraged the surgery because it could buy him some more time, and it would stop the tumor from getting any bigger.

Jason decided to go ahead with the surgery.

On July 27, 2022, Jason had brain surgery and they were able to remove 70% of the tumor. The surgery went well, but in recovery, the nurse realized he had lost some vision in his right eye. After a few days, he was released from the hospital having lost almost all the vision in his right eye. The neurosurgeon is not sure if he will ever be able to see out of his right eye again.

Jason should be starting additional treatment in 6 weeks; however, we are not sure if he will have to take chemotherapy, radiation, or both.

Jason has decided not to get the tumor results until his next appointment with the surgeon. He wants to spend this time just recovering from surgery as he has been in horrible pain.

Unfortunately, Jason can no longer work, and his wife Julie has had to take intermittent FMLA to take care of Jason.

Everything that has happened has just been devastating to our family, but any help they receive can ease a little more of the burden this terrible event has placed on their family. I know any contribution would be greatly appreciated!
