Jason Hirst Trip to AAU Nationals

Hello, my name is Mark Kanaar and I've had the pleasure of coaching Jason "The Beast" Hirst for over a decade in various Martial Art competitions. Jason is our "special needs" athlete and he recently won a gold medal at AAU States for Taekwondo in the para sparring division. This qualifies him to compete at AAU Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in July. Unfortunately, Jason doesn't have the financial means to get there. I told him if we can raise the funds that I would take him there so he can compete. I'm hoping to see if the public could help him out with his journey, it definitely will be something he'll remember for the rest of his life. In addition, if we past our goal, the extra money will be used to help out our team going there with Jason. We have between 30-40 athletes going and as many people know, I work with a lot students who's family have an extremely tough time affording something like this event. Nationals is a life changing event for any martial artist. I'm very confident that Jason will do well there. It will be his first time at an event this size. There are thousands of other martial arts there competing to do their best and win gold. I'll be posting his journey on Facebook as we travel to this event.
