Help Jason stay afloat after a medical crisis
Donation protected
On October 25th, my brother, Jason, called me and asked me to take him to the ER. He had had no energy for about a month and a half, and was suffering extreme cramps in his left leg for about 5 days. That morning the leg pain was so severe, he had to crawl the 5 feet from his bed to the bathroom.
Turns out he had two unrelated very serious medical crises happening at once… the lack of energy was because his body only had one quarter the amount of blood volume a person should have, due to a slow internal bleed. The excruciating leg cramp and inability to walk was because he had a blood clot in an artery behind his knee.
He spent 8 days at Sierra Vista Hospital, which originally wanted to send him up to Stanford, but was able to find a local surgeon with the skill set to address the clot. He was given a blood transfusion, and another doctor addressed the internal bleeding.
He’s home now, but still unable to walk, and has worked very little since his car accident last January. I’m asking for help, on his behalf, so that he can keep a roof over his head, the utilities paid, and disrupt his daughter’s sense of normalcy as little as possible.
Every bit helps.
