On behalf of myself, Lori Waiser, Wendy LeHockey, family and friends, we share the heartbreaking news that on August 20, 2020, our beloved Jason passed due complications from COVID-19 at the young age of 46. Jason leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Michele and his daughters Ilana, 20 and Hailey, 15.
We want to ensure that Michele has no struggles in the immediate future sending the girls to college, managing household expenses and dealing with out of pocket medical expenses incurred for Jason's three and a half week stay in the hospital.
Our hearts were shattered as we watched Jason battle for his life. Last week Jason had shown improvement and was taken off a ventilator. Early this week his health took a fast turn and he lost his fight. Michele, Ilana and Hailey were by his side as he gained his wings and went straight to heaven.
Jason was the first person to always help anyone out, even to change a tire in the middle of the night. His kindness, generosity and willingness to go the extra mile sum up who he was. He was a father figure and mentor to many as the Athletic Director at J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Florida.
We hope we can all wrap our arms around Michele and the girls during this most difficult time. We know Jason will always watch over Michele, Ilana, Hailey and everyone else he loved.
Thank you Jason for your beautiful smile, you brightened up everyone who came in contact with it and we are all better people for knowing you. You are beyond loved and we will miss you like crazy and will always be thinking about you through every step of our lives.
