Jason Wyland, HS Senior, forever 18

My name is Ida Rodriguez, I am Jason's mom. My son passed away in his sleep last night. I had to call it at 8:15 am on Sunday November 19, 2023 for hospital to stop CPR.

I've been through this nightmare before when Jason's older brother Jared, forever 17, died from an accidental fentanyl laced drug overdose on March 25 2020. A GoFundMe was started which enabled me to pay for his cremation, purchase a beautiful urn, pay for memorial service, pay some bills since I couldn't work.

With a heavy heart I'm going through losing my only remaining son Jason. I am now a single mother with a 16 year old daughter at home. I work at the hospital doing housekeeping at nights but I can't make ends meet.

I am asking for financial and emotional support to ease the burden,

Jason was born with Tetrology of Fallot, a congenital heart disease. He's had two open heart surgeries. Had a pulmonary valve replaced a couple years ago.

Jason was passionate about playing basketball. He was the captain of the Lake Placid Green Dragons basketball team. Today is the first game of the season and team is heartbroken they lost a team mate.

Jason is a Senior at Lake

High School. He's grown up here since 1st grade. He is a good honor roll kid. Never any disciples or any problems with Jason. Everyone that knows Jason can testify he is am amazing young man with such a bright Future ahead of him.

I'm reaching out for help. Losing one son was hard enough and changed my life forever. Now I'm doing this all over again. I've got to quickly make decisions for his burial or cremation, plan a viewing and a memorial service, purchase plane tickets for my oldest daughter for roundtrip airfare from Colorado for her and her daughter and boyfriend during this Thanksgiving week.
