Jason's Healthy Heart Help
Here is a link to Jason's Blog
Hi everyone, my name is Jef and I am a longtime friend of Jason's...i'm pretty sure we met in 7th grade but he thinks it was 8th grade and we argue about that all the time....but that doesn't really matter for this conversation.
As you may or may not know, Jason was diagnosed with heart failure a couple of years ago, and there have been complications along the way. It seems that his condition has developed into acute heart failure
Jason has received a heart transplant on Friday the 25th of January, 2019.
This is the best outcome that we could have hoped for, and Jason has been in recovery in Seattle at UW Medical Center. Things are slowly progressing, and his strength, appetite and demeanor are improving each day!
The sad truth is that expenses will continue to skyrocket for Jason and his wife Melinda. Jason will need to recover in Seattle close to UW Medical Center for a number of months. He will require constant supervision for a long time and Melinda will be spending a good portion of her time in Seattle. Unfortunately, that means that she will not have an income, and Jason will obviously not be working.
We are asking for help to pay bills and mortgage on their current home as well as travel expenses, medical expenses, and for help with housing in Seattle for recovery for approximately 3 months.
Anything you can do is greatly appreciated. Jason has been overwhelmed with the response and support that has been shown already. I will say thank you on his behalf. This has been a long and scary road and it really helps to see such amazing support from friends and family and even strangers.
Please message me with any questions you may have. Thank you again.
