Jason's Cancer Journey

Hi all,
Many of you may of heard about Jason’s diagnosis. We love Jenn and Jason so
much we wanted to do something to
ease the stress of everything they’re currently facing. Below you’ll see some information Jenn put together for us. Please share this and donate if you’re able. They both go above and beyond for their community, now it’s our chance to rally behind them!
“Jason has Stage 4C Colon Cancer with spread to his Liver, Lymph Nodes and Peritoneum. Jason's diagnosis was discovered after feeling pain and discomfort in his abdomen that wouldn't go away over the weekend. A CT scan in urgent care revealed a sizable tumor in his Cecum (where the large intestine meets the small intestine), several spots on his liver, and the suspected involvement of his lymph nodes. Jason is a Hodgkins Lymphoma Survivor. 15 years ago he successfully beat Stage 2A. He's a fighter. The hope for doctors was that they would be able to do surgery, as is the most common form of treatment for Colon Cancer, then continue on chemo to stop further spread. A later PET Scan revealed additional spread, this time into his peritoneum. The additional spread and confirmed involvement of his lymph nodes meant that he is no longer a candidate for surgery, the only known cure for Colon Cancer. The hope and prayer is that the chemo will be effective at stopping and slowing the spread and progression. Timelines and cancer are fickle things, just when you think you have time to plan ahead and get things in order, cancer takes a swipe at your best intentions. We don't know how long, we're praying for eternity, but the odds and treatment options are not in our favor.
It's important to note, that Jason is only 47 years old. His family does not have a history of Colon Cancer. Jason had no traditional signs or symptoms other than a pain in his abdomen that wouldn't go away - pain that could've been ignored or attributed to anything. Colonoscopies are now being recommended starting at age 45. If you are 45 or older, get one done. Period. Finding Colon Cancer before it spreads is 100% curable.”
