Jason’s Medical Bills - 8 Hours Buried in Trench
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ivy, and I’m fundraising for my husband’s medical bills.
You’ve probably seen him on the news without knowing it. Yesterday, just before 2pm, Jason was down in a 12 foot deep trench in Allentown, PA doing some work when it collapsed on him and his coworker.
He was completely buried with only his hard hat sticking out. His coworker was able to dig his face out before emergency responders arrived. It took over 8 hours to get him out…just after 10pm. We praise God for preserving his life. We are so thankful for every single one of the tireless emergency responders - all heroes.
Jason is in the critical care unit of the hospital. His injuries are extensive. We think we’ve ruled out fractured vertebrae in his neck, though they are injured, and he has many broken teeth, as well as a dislocated jaw. After jaw surgery, he will need 6 weeks of recovery eating soft and liquid food only. He’s also undergoing kidney function tests.
He's still going through many tests and seeing many different doctors and it is a lot of information to take in. He’s seeing so many specialists and may even need multiple surgeries. It’s all just so overwhelming.
If you are able to monetarily give anything at all, that would be an incredible blessing. I found out yesterday, of all days, that I was unexpectedly pregnant with our first child. Someone must have overheard me encouraging Jason with this news as he was finally about to be rescued and free, and released it to the news world.
While this isn’t how we would’ve planned to tell the world of our pregnancy blessing, we’re comfortable being open now, and our dear baby is a driving factor behind this fundraising.
We don’t have any clue yet when Jason will be able to work again, and the prospect of enormous unknown medical bills is daunting and overwhelming. He was supposed to begin his new job on Monday! Now he won’t be able to go back to work for an unspecified amount so time, so we are facing a loss of income for an unknown amount of time in the future! If there are any more medical updates, I may be able to post them here.
We are so thankful for everyone who is praying for him and for me. Please keep praying. And most of all, we thank God! He is always good.
I would also like to publicly thank our wonderful church, Lehigh Valley Presbyterian for their incredible support. We appreciate it so much.
