In Loving Memory of Javel Lawton
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Community Members,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I reach out to you. Our beloved Javel Lawton, a vibrant 15-year-old with dreams larger than life, was tragically taken from us in an act of senseless violence. On a fateful Tuesday evening, at Bay View Houses in Canarsie, Brooklyn, Javel’s young life was cut short, leaving behind a community in mourning and a family shattered by grief.
The shockwaves of his loss are felt deeply, not just by his immediate family but our entier community. He was a bright light in our lives, extinguished too soon by a bullet that should never have been fired.
As we grapple with the reality of his absence, we are also confronted with the harsh truth of gun violence that plagues our streets. Javel was not just a statistic; he was a human being with dreams, aspirations, and a life full of potential. His untimely death is a stark reminder of the urgency with which we must address this epidemic.
In his memory, we are establishing the Javel Lawton Legacy Fund. This fund aims to support children affected and impacted by the trauma of gun violence. We want to ensure that Javel’s legacy is not defined by how he died but by the impact he continues to make in our fight against this senseless violence.
Your donation to the Javel Lawton Legacy Fund will also assist in covering unforeseen expenses and supporting Javel’s siblings through this unimaginably difficult time.
We thank you for your kindness, support, and for standing with us as we honor Javel’s memory. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that his light continues to shine in the hearts of those he left behind.
With a heart full of grief and gratitude,
Javel’s Family
