Javion Blackwell Medical Expenses

My name is Teantra Blackwell. My son, Javion was hit by a car on June 6, 2022 while at our mailbox. He had surgery that same day to repair his fibula and tibia. They placed a metal plate with 8 screws. We have been going to follow up appointments every week. This past Tuesday, July 12th, we went for what I was hoping for his last follow up appointment. Unfortunately, after the doctor examined Javion, he discovered dead tissue and scheduled Javion for surgery the next day. Originally, the plan was to removed all the dead tissue, wash it, then place specialized tissue in that area on Friday. After surgery, the doctor spoke to me and told me that the tissue was dead all the way to his bone so he is unable to place the specialized tissue in that area. He is now needing plastic surgery and skin grafting. Currently, his bone is exposed but they have it wrapped with a wound vac on. He will be having surgery today to wash that area again. He is currently on different types of antibiotics due to pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacteria). After today’s surgery, he will be scheduled for plastic surgery on Wednesday to take a piece of tissue from one side of his leg to place over the exposed bone. Seems like every step we are taking, we get knocked a few steps back. This has been one of the most mentally, emotionally, and spiritually draining times I’ve ever experienced but I know God’s plan is far better than my own. He will bring us through this dark time. He does have medical insurance but it does not cover everything since the doctors are out of his network. He has the best team here caring for him. I do not have a limit that I am asking for because anything will help. Feel free to say a prayer for us as well. Thank you all. God bless.
