Javone Montre Hodges

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the sad news that Javone Montre Hodges aka Polumalu passed away on June 20th, 2021. A son, brother, student- athlete - Javone’s impact on his community and peers was always loving and positive. Javone leaves behind his mother Keesha Hodges and two younger siblings JoJo and Justice Hodges.

Javone attended and played football at Northeast Early College High School and was headed to Mesabi Range College on a football scholarship this fall. Javone was a bit of a contradiction. A linebacker on the field (where he adopted the nickname “Polumalu” because of his long, luscious hair), those who shared the field with him knew him as one of the toughest and hardest hitting players they ever faced. But off the field, he was one of the most kind-hearted people you hopefully had the pleasure of knowing. His family, former teammates and those who knew him in the community will miss him and his electric smile more than words can describe. 

We would like to raise funds for Javone’s family to help cover funeral expenses, as well as living expenses for a little while so they can have the space to grieve as a family. His family needs to be able to process their grief without the added worry of bills and expenses.

We know this past year has been difficult for everyone, so donations in any amount is very much appreciated.
